On the Last June, professional technical tender for constructing and installing advanced infrastructure, directory services and Microsoft Exchange 2007 services was announced by Um Al-Qura University in Mecca. Tender's selection committee chose SURE to implement the turn key project for its professional technical solutions and its long experience in large and mega projects.

Challenge:

As to Um Al-Qura University’s position, a pioneer educational institute in the western region of SAU SURE faced a number of obstacles that had to be overcome if it was to successfully upgrade customer's existing infrastructures and then maximize their technology performance. One of the most characterized challenges was; Migrating the legacy mail solution, applying the latest Microsoft technologies.

Solution:

Recognizing the common thread across all of the projects, Microsoft Gold Certified partner sensed that it needed to find a way to implement its best services and latest technologies, in addition to pull information in a seamless way from a variety of sources without affecting back-end operations and systems. Therefore, it was decided to undertake the following critical tasks in order to realize more targeted significant benefits, including increased availability, reliability and storage and back-up capabilities:

Design and implement Windows 2008 Directory Service.
Design and implement the university client connectivity and authentication to the domain controllers.
Design and implement the user policies, for more than 7000 users.
Design and implement of UQU three physical sites connectivity.
Design and implement the Domain Name Services (DNS) in three sites of UQU.
Design and implement the Dynamic host configuration protocol for three sites.
Design the Microsoft exchange 2007 Mail solution for the stuff.
Design the live@edu mail for the students.
